Management of the Mt. Nebo Scenic Byway and the surrounding lands is a cooperative effort between numerous public agencies and organizations.  The cities of Nephi and Payson are gateway communities that provide food, lodging, and other business to support Byway visitors.  Most of the highway and adjacent terrain is public land under the jurisdiction of the United States Forest Service (USFS) Spanish Fork Ranger District.  The USFS works closely with the Public Works Departments in Utah and Juab Counties to maintain the roadway and make necessary improvements.

Visitor information and promotional materials have been developed and disseminated through the National Scenic Byways Program, the Utah Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Utah Office of Tourism, and the Juab Travel Council, and the Peteetneet Museum.  In the winter, the snow-covered Byway is maintained by Utah State Parks to provide quality snowmobiling conditions.
